About Us

Rewind back to the turn of the millennium.

Tony Parun, a former tennis professional that had represented
New Zealand in Davis Cup had returned home to Wellington after
spending 25 years in Karlsruhe, Germany.

One night in early January 2000 Tony invited a close friend, which
had stayed at his home in Wellington for several months, to a local
pub. After enjoying a few beers and Wellington’s unbeatable
hospitality their appetite for a German Brezel grew. Finally Tony
was asked to order a Brezel. But there was no Brezel to be
found. The rest is history and the birth of BrezelMania. After
market research and hours of brainstorming, the project
BrezelMania was launched.

German Bakers were employed and a production facility installed
in Petone. The first Brezels were wholesaled in 2001. In December
2002 Brezelmania opened doors to its first retail store on Jackson
Street, Petone.

Shortly after retail outlets opened in Kelburn, Lower
Hutt, Thorndon and Kilbirnie.

As the product range grew quickly due to the increased demand in
the wholesale sector of the business.

What started as an idea while drinking a beer twenty years ago
has now grown into a business with over 40 employees that caters
to Hospitality Groups, Restaurants and Cafes across the greater
Wellington Area and nationwide.
